BE GRATEFUL FOR DAILY BREAD!
ReplyDeleteToday, there are several issues affecting millions of people around the world. One of them remains the main cause of death. According to the United Nations, about 21.000 people die every day because of it. Sadly, are children who die most often. It is not a problem that only affects countries such as India or Africa, it also occurs in our Colombian society. In fact, is concerning that in the University some classmates have to come to class without breakfast or lunch, because they only have enough for just one meal a day. Yes, hunger, a terrible and inescapable reality for one-eighth of all of the people in the world.
We live in a planet where global agricultural production could be enough to feed twice the world’s population. However, the number of hungry people in the world is currently increasing year after year, this as a result of injustice, the violation of the fundamental right of everyone to have food in sufficient quantity and quality to allow them to live a dignified and healthy life. Besides, the causes of hunger are numerous and complex: unfair trade policies, poverty, lack of access to clean water, a situation of discrimination of women, natural disasters, violence and armed conflict, or pandemics, are some of them.
Finally, I consider that to eradicate world hunger is really difficult. This is due to the corruption of the rulers, and the apathy and indifference of the rest of humanity. Although, there are some organizations that work closely with governments to combat problems like this, it is necessary to be aware of this difficult situation and assume a social commitment to ensure adequate nutrition, food security, water, sanitation, and health to all people.
Thanks!
THE SOLUTION IS IN OUR HANDS
ReplyDeleteIn the world always going to find privileged and underprivileged people or maybe not privileged, that is what we call social classes that define or establish that people are rich and that people are poor, but there are more poor people living in this world.
In the video you can see that the child lives in absolute poverty, in a place where everyone survives as they can, trying to escape hunger and death at a time, because scarcity and poverty means to live in a constant need grows daily. Then what should really provide assistance to people living in these conditions and no isolate them the world and let them into oblivion. On the other hand poor people should have free health care, and this since lack of money is difficult for them to receive certain treatments and over when people are terminally ill.
I think that poverty will be present in the world, and then we cannot allow it to continue growing. This happens because each person is indifferent to the suffering and need another only we think in our own good. If you think about helping other without asking anything in return, the country would not have so many poor people.
Erika Rozo.
Hi everyone.
ReplyDeleteThe topic that I chose is:
DISSATISFACTION OF THE PEOPLE:
Most people constantly complained of what we have, we get brave because we did not like the food, clothing, toys, among others, and do not appreciate all that we have, and we may give our padres.Siempre selfishly in us, what we have, what we would like to have and we can not and we live complaining.
But there are people and children in the world who would give anything to get a small part of what we have and what bothers us both.
Sadly there are children in Africa and many parts of the world, enduring hunger, and has to go out for food in dumpsters or street. Most of them starving, thinking of because they live well, and when he finally finished his suffering.
Fortunately each of us, do not go through these difficulties, obviously we all have economic problems and difficult times in our lives, but that is little we always have something to eat, a place to go to sleep and people like our parents always receive us with doors open. So each of us should appreciate and value what we have, and not decay to the problems we face on the road however great may seem.
Thanks!
Hello everyone!
ReplyDeleteI decided to talk about the problematic in Africa in relation to the video.
I want to be a pilot.
In the countries of the continent of Africa have presented several problems around survival, lifestyles and more.
This is an issue that has arisen in the course of the years, but that it gives a warm wet cloth people and left as well, has not found a real solution.
I think that should be a concern for the governments of these countries. But ... What to do about the lack of cooperation? It is the increase in poverty in this region, I think it is not fair that children who would fall this misery. It is clear that the child wants out of that nightmare and dream to fly and be someone better, just want to be happy, do not address these problems since a child his age dreams of studying, playing and learning.
The search for a better education and a social welfare as health, psychology and educational brigades to the population, are things that represent a change regarding the quality of life.
I think there is no logic in the video when it is mentioned that these people are used as drug experiment, also the issue of racism, we are within such a civilized culture but not yet this is exceeded.
It feels a void, many children are orphaned, their parents die; is a high mortality rate inattention in these territories is rather conducive to the spread of sexually transmitted diseases in both as well as other diseases.
In conclusion, should be social welfare campaigns where you will provide support to these children in order to find a solution to all the problems that arise every day and so they find a better quality of life.
Thank you!
Have a nice day!
:D
POVERTY IN EVERY ASPECT
ReplyDeleteTo show one of many problems that living in some African countries, especially poverty, which is the problem that most affect society. Children are the most affected, due to the lack of many resources.
This problem to brought much controversy, since the people of Africa to suffered lack of food, live in poorly constructed houses, young people have to look for food in landfills, and are also exposed to any type of disease. Another great problem is the abandonment to the education, the truth in Africa need education advertising, without schools; most young people learn things from the street, carrying them to commit many crimes. On the other hand the girls also suffer problems of sexual harassment, this because of that security there isn’t existing, and this creates conflict between the society and the Government.
From my point of view the Government of some countries and cities must generate more economic boosters, also the construction of schools, provide greater security to its citizens, to make cleanliness of its streets, as Africa is one of the continents that do not care for the care of the environment. in terms of health, having better care medical, since an order is needed to care for this population. and finally create a rehabilitation center for young people, which were delivered to the consumption of drugs, and also violence.

ReplyDeleteNobody knows what has until it loses it
Deletenowadays, there is a problem 'the violence' that I see: a lot of young people haven't Access of education, but this problem Not only one sees demonstrated in my country it happens in other countries but countries how Africa and India doesn't have opportunity to study even my country because a lot of people are in abject poverty, still, most styling problems are caused by bad governments.
But now we live in a world where The alive one lives of the fool, sometimes we can see how some young people that doesn't have access use violence for getting money because is the way easier than get money.
If I do the comparison with the video I see how show socio-economic problems
therefore, I consider that We should be grateful for every thing that we have. Maybe tomorrow we haven't that.
We should not remain inherent either these situations.
I think that we could learn about the video ' I Want to be a pilot' because in these video show how a child is strong, he live in abject poverty, and he struggles.
I believe that the change is when you appreciate each thing that you have
REFLECTION
ReplyDeleteThe inequality as a a great enemy of the happiness:
The inequality is a historical-global issue of the human societies. Sometimes we can say and see that the negation of the equality is a natural cause of the development of a community, but when the differences between poor and rich people are enormous the inequality becomes the main trouble for suppressing the poverty.
countries called "potencies" use to countries of Third World for getting their interests, they does not consider important the poverty of the others. Obondi's case is critical; he is a young bird killed by different big stones: poverty, orphanhood, sickness, bad education and hunger. He considers that his dream, his happiness, is not into his gheto, he believes that he has to go out of his community, his life, his town, for making real his dreams; and his dream is in the heaven, where airplanes fly, where are his parents, their kisses, their hugs, their love.
We do not have to have pity of them, we have to be good people with needers that we have in our environment, strength our compassion, help to the others, and try to diminish the scopes of the inequality. Obondi is a great dreamer, and the great dreamers have half future insured.
José Inocencio Becerra Lagos
A dreamer
ReplyDeleteA dream, a dreamer; a reality, a sickness; a place: Kibera. His dream: to fly, the dreamer was a boy. The reality: A poor country, abandon people. His illness was the VIH. Africa has the VIH, but the world, our society has the worst disease: the indifference.
When I watched that video, I remembered how much people dead daily because of the VIH around the world, and how much children dead or grow up without parents. From my point of view, the VIH is a reality that all people should be conscious about its consequences. On the other hand, I think that all of us can learn about how the people (children, young people and old people) value the life.
For example the boy in that video wanted to be a pilot; for me, maybe for two reasons: The first, the boy wanted to go far away, because he only wanted to has a simple life, and the second he wanted to fly very high, because, up in the sky, he could be near of his parents. In that video, the boy taught me that in the worst moments, also there are dreams that give us a reason for live, a reason for to pursue our dreams, our goals.
All of us were born sick, we have some sickness: physical or philological, but also we have dreams, for this reason we are dreamers and this help us and teach us to learn to live. Finally, also, I want to be a pilot, because I want to pursue my dreams. “If you do not know to fly, you lose your time with me”.

ReplyDeleteTHE EDUCATION IN AFRICA
ReplyDeleteÁfrica is a a continent with many problems one of that problems is the educatión as we can give account , África has had a devastating effect upon the country's schoolchildren..In other terms africa also has some of the world’s most glaring education inequalities. all too often, children who are born poor, female, or in rural or conflict-affected regions, face extreme disadvantage in education.
for this reason, african´s children do not have the possibility of entering to different schools, because are so poor, they live far away , the insecurity, and other dificults problems that are affecting the population, because of, many children dont know how to read, how to write, and it is necessary to say because is an important aspect for many peoples that are interesting in this topyc.
finally , as usual, the ones most affected are from the poorer, rural areas, where mechanisms have not been set up to create inclusion programmes and where there exists a massive cultural and developmental gap, educational and digital exclusion which renders people unable to compete on equal terms with their peers in wealthier areas of their own countries or of the world in general. Also the government must work to improve the quality of education in africa so that all children have the posibility of study, and they can fulfill all their dreams and goals.
“I want to be a pilot”
ReplyDeleteThe poverty affects many people and many places in the world. Increasingly we see societies suffering for the poverty, also we see to families with diseases, and alone children with many sadness because they don’t have parents. Their parents died to cause of the HIV. This problem is very common in Africa and is for the absolute poverty, also for the lack of education that exists in this continent. Always the innocent suffer, in this case the children.
In the video we see a child with much sadness, Omondi speaks about his life, and his only illusion is to be a pilot to fly very high. He only thinks in to go to a place far away where guardians of orphan kids cannot abuse them, and the equality between black people and white people. Also he thinks that the leaders they elected stop filling their pockets and start caring for them. His dream is to be a pilot for takeoff and land in other places. This child just wants to get away from suffering. He wants to lead a simple life, a life without fear; he wants to be happy.
I think that children should not have a troubled life. They should think about school, friends, and play all the time. Children should not suffer from poverty, disease, or feel sadness. Omondi and all the world's children must have their parents nearby, so they can realize their dreams and they can be happy forever.
Be Aware
ReplyDeleteDespite of Africa is a rich continent for their natural resources such as oil, gold, diamonds, iron, cobalt, copper, silver besides wood and tropical fruits; its economy and resources are in hands of western countries. While many businessmen and politicians fill up their pockets with the gains of these lands, possibly it is normal to see people in the streets, how they must survive in the garbage and to see how many children die daily. They are sick and hungry because they haven’t eaten during days, they are undernourished. Many of them are orphans and they roam the streets day and night looking for something to eat or to rest. Without mentioning they don’t have schools or simply education.
However, in Colombia we are not far from Africa, when we have the same situation in front of our eyes, in La Guajira , department where children die due to undernourishment and surveillance deficiency from part of the Government. There, children don’t have a good service health, children don’t have good education, and many of them have to go out asking for money. Politicians and the corruption have been stealing supports during years, as well as the money and the royalties.
Probably, sometimes we are thankless with the daily opportunities and blessings we receive, and really it is my case, when I complain because my mom prepared meat at lunch and I don’t like, when I do not use my new shoes because I already do not like them now, or cases like this one. And in the moment I do not reflect about my bad attitudes and I do not think how many children would wish what I have. For this reason is necessary to have awareness about our attitudes and also how we can help people who need us.
I HAVE A DREAM
ReplyDelete“I have a dream”, these simple words, were the beginning of the change in United States, pronounced by Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1963; but, what does a dream mean? Well, a dream is a plan, a view of the future, a thing that we want to occur some day and we hope that it will be reality, knowing this, now the question will be: what does motivate a dream?
In first place, we have to explore the life, the experiences that have changed or made stronger our point of view about many things, putting like an example to Omondi, he want to be a pilot to fly far away from his situation; everybody needs a reason, a fact, for this, many people hasn’t a dream, because they haven´t gone to the adventure or haven’t searched their happiness, maybe the people don’t know what they want because they are afraid, they are afraid about the mistakes, they are afraid about suffering, they are afraid about the world, they don´t think by themselves, they are machines making money, and at the same time, making poverty.
Everyday a child, a man, a woman, live their life trying to make everything as possible to change the world, with more facts and less empty words, less promises without results, less sadness in the children eyes; they have a dream, and you?

ReplyDeleteWhat is Capitalisms about?
ReplyDeleteWell in my opinion the Capitalisms works when there is a man, John, who grows tomatoes and sells this to a market to get money; in the other hand there is a woman, Clarisse, who sells colognes to get money as well. This woman buys tomatoes with the money that she got. When she is making dinner she realizes that there is an expired tomato so she throws out it into garbage. This garbage is carry into an Island far away from city because of these litters has a disgusting smells. But this is not ending. In the Island there is a man, Peter, who buys these litters to his porkies; but in the island also live many people whose do not have anything to eat. So after Peter collects litters for his porkies these people can look for “food” to them and their families. And this happens because they do not have money.
This is just a small example of what really happens in world. People who does not have to eat in one part and in the other we eat lot of food. Nevertheless this reality is not from now. The way that capitalist countries consume less stronger societies is incredible. The history show us how colonizing just take out better resources of a place, how they take out better people and let in the country weaker people. Thus without health, education or even know who they really are their origins, where they come from. Just adopting the colonizing’s culture. The empire is still growing.
We can think “that is not my business” “that happens so far away from here”. That is not true. We are a Yankee colony as well. I consider that we do not realize about it because we are so busy shopping, being selfish, and receiving subsidies from U.S.A. We are becoming lazy; we are just worry about who has best clothes. I hope when Colombians realize it, we still have time.
I really believe education is optimum way to change it. As language teacher we have power to do not lose our identity and teach our students to do not forget where they come from.
Hello teacher and classmates, I’m going to share with you my personal opinion about the video “I WANT TO BE A PILOT” I hope that you be agree with I say.
ReplyDeleteCHANGE STARTS WITH ME
We often have the possibility of having things such as objects, toys, money, etc... But we never ask ourselves about others… What the people need? Just we think in ourselves. We live in a conformist world, where we don't think about the needs of others. We are selfish, self-centered and interested; we think that we live in a bubble and we don’t care what happens around.
The world must become aware with all the problems that occur every day. There are economic, social and cultural problems, and so as we saw in the video "I WANT TO BE A PILOT," Omondi is a boy, who hardly would have the facility to make his dream come true. Unfortunately he lives in Africa in a town that does not have the resources to support him.
This story is very sad, because Omondi does not have sufficient resources to accomplish his dream. We have to work hard; we must be persevering to achieve a change in society, even in the world. We should appreciate what we have, what our parents, friends, etc. give us, all that give us daily are blessings that people like Omondi would like have. Only we have to be grateful.
Thanks have a nice day.

ReplyDeleteDreaming or not dreaming?
ReplyDeletePoverty is a difficult social problem because it can have a community in a conditional state of visible and invisible limits. But, what happens when you cross them?
In a country like of the video is impossible for some people to believe in a different life for them, because they are adapted to that life, although it does not have principal recourses of living good or close to "living good". In a place without justice and full of poverty, dreaming is looked like a crazy act because the context says another sad things where the ambitions are dead. So, for me, who can dream in middle of that, is an honorable person.
The video's boy is an honorable person because dreaming is hard when your mind are looking another thing that no inspire good thoughts. He could do it, he wanted to fly far away for his horrible context not for escaping of it, so to create a different world where the people must be treated same like other countries where rich people live, because he knew that his reality was not the only reality for everybody in the world. I believe that dreaming in middle a lots of needs is a courage act, not an ingenuous act.
Thanks!
Hi everybody today I want to present to you my opinion about the video “I WANT TO BE A PILOT” and I would like that you enjoy this.
ReplyDeleteIn a world like ours, selfish and full of problems foreign to many of us. In a world like ours where every country worries for tourism sells more than solving his internal problems that we might think before a hypocrite society that it criticizes a woman for selling his body to feed his children instead of promoting the work.
In this world where we live that he says that close we are one, in which actually the society instead of joining and to be one, looks with strange eyes at the events that every time turn us more inhuman, since it a child is to see to starve in the street and to continue as if a garbage was alone to the shore.
This video inspires to being aware to near what we are doing for improving, but to improve the world we have to begin for us, with small changes and to try to give example to the future generations who come to live in the world that we are leaving them to pieces.
Thank you.
Hi! I am going to give you a good advice for your lives...
ReplyDeleteDon't be ungrateful to your life
Every day people must give God thanks for letting them to be here in the world and can enjoy the life with their parents, friends, teachers and the rest of the people. Not many people enjoy the life. Most of them get stressed out daily and think that has solution nothing, but why people complain of their lives?
I think the main trouble is people do not value what they has, they think that is most important money than happiness or happiness is having money and materials things. They do not understand the most important is be happy with themselves. These people prefer to spend time complaining and do not look for some solutions. There are people that really have troubles without solution. For example the people that have some illness and depend on other people; any illness do not let us be free and it is a true trouble, Also it is important people value and appreciate the people who sacrifice their “something” for them, because maybe that “something” will be their everything.
Finally, I believe we can enjoy all our life with gladness. It is not neccesary we think on troubles, also we can see what too amazing and wonderful are our lives. It is true that we have troubles but we can solve them with positive mind, good ideas and perseverance. Neither give up nor forget smile because there are good things to come. we can make the best of a bad situation. And as Albert Einstein said: “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them”, it means that if there is a trouble is because we brought bad thinking on the mind and the solution is had a good thinking.
SUFFERING AFRICAN (POVERTY)
ReplyDeleteIn Africa like in the world there are countries with levels high of poverty. Continent Africa is a beautiful place regarding its magnificent landscape, its fauna and flora and exotic animals but sadly the people that live in this continent suffer or feel a lot of pain. They have an ordinary tradition where the money is very valued about this the women are changed for cows or money. The girls can not to go to school. In Africa there are not improvement spirit neither success.
The African reality is shocking, the most people live with lacking money, also a high percentage the children are five years old suffer malnutrition, in addiction the population there are not potable water and actually is very sad to see children, women, men and older person with serious illness and they have to live it from the needs before mention that without doubt it finish in the death.
Africa also to be the most poverty region, it suffer the consequence of the most rate high of HIV or ADIS contagion. The life expectation is very low so in this place there are high percentage of death the population.
I consider that is still very sad the population African growth with more speed. They don’t have the probability of dignity live because of the different problems that they are confronting at the moment.
I think that to be born and growing up in continent African is challenge.
I want to be a pilot
ReplyDeleteReally, there were a lot elements and relevant aspects for talking about that video but I have decided to talk about poverty. Why? Because I consider that it is a principal problem who affects thousand people around the world, and it involves to other problems. Punctually in Africa there is inequality because while people are living in precarious conditions other people have a lot of money for petrol. What I want to say is that while people are dying other are falling your pockets with money and it is not fair.
To avoid this problem will be complicated, since a lot of people have tried to solve it of different ways such as to make campaigns and to recollect food for giving the poorest people, to give subsidies etc. I think that poverty is a topic that people would like to change but it is so hard that it is impossible to eliminate. In the world there are people that they have a lot of amount of money and maybe they could help them but people are selfish for example if multi-millionaire people would give a little amount of money, the poverty could be eliminated but it never will happen.
It is important that people change their point of view about poverty, also the government needs to apply their laws how must be or of the correct way because politicians sometimes spend so much money. For solving the situation we need to understand that there are actions or costumes that are necessary to eradicate for example: racism, exclusion, violence, famine etc. I think that those are the trigger for changing the world because such as first step we need to have awareness.
Africa is the most poor continent, where is lived a terrible life, it is an outcast continent. Africa is the most affected continent by different big problems as the poverty and the lack of rights, but the biggest and mean problem is related with the children, they are the most affected with that situation.
ReplyDeleteChildren in Africa and other places in all over the world have that deal with illness, live in rustic conditions, without home, without parents, without food and in some cases without dreams; I think that one of those big problems, is the indifference of the many people to this situation, that indifference make strong the gap bigger between the children’s reality and their dream, because they have that deal with their situation alone. In the world there are many people that know about it, but the truth they are alone, many only critic the politic and critic the economic situation but really anyone is concerned with the children’s dreams.
I think that the children must be in a school, learning new thing about the world, learning great things no sad and cruel things. I think that the children must enjoy the life and play friends, enjoy the life with health. I think that children’s rights must be protected. I think that children’s dream must be realized.
Hi everyone:
ReplyDeleteIntroduction: When poverty goes from being an act of justice to a charity?
It is to admire the courage of a helpless child, who only dream to be a pilot, to fly high. That idea is not only a dumb idea, of just want to be in heaven, this dream goes further. He just wants to be a pilot, because he thinks only in a distant place where everything he ever dreamed can become reality.
Body: The dream of "Omadi" who has only 12 years old, a resident of Kibera, the largest district of East African, who lasts up to 4 days or more without eating, is to be a pilot, to fly very far away, to a world that can be perfect, he just wants to see his parents, hug them, kiss them, love them, to attend a school with a uniform, where he can be a boy normal, where you can play with other children, without that the other children can run of he, because he has HIV, to play in the grass, without political and only with God. To Omandi, your perfect world.
Conclusion: Omandi is just one of the many cases, where the lack of awareness is reflected, where we are letting the human side, to become a rock, without feelings. We must be aware of the current situation of many young people and begin the change.
Thanks
